What is Sermorelin?
Sermorelin is a synthetic version of the first 29 amino acids of naturally occurring GHRH (which has 44 amino acids). It was one of the first GHRH analogs developed and has been used in clinical settings since the 1990s, originally for diagnosing and treating growth hormone deficiency in children. It remains popular in anti-aging and wellness protocols.
Sermorelin vs Newer GH Peptides
Compared to CJC-1295, sermorelin has a shorter half-life (10β20 minutes vs 30 minutes) and may be slightly less potent per microgram. However, it has the longest safety track record of any GH peptide and is available through compounding pharmacies with a prescription. Many practitioners prefer it as a first-line GH peptide for its established safety profile.
Reconstitution
- 3 mg β 1 mL BAC water
- 6 mg β 2 mL BAC water
- 9 mg β 3 mL BAC water
- 15 mg β 5 mL BAC water
Dosing
100β500 mcg injected subcutaneously before bed on an empty stomach. Lower doses (100β200 mcg) are typical starting points, with 300β500 mcg for experienced users. Some protocols cycle sermorelin (5 days on, 2 days off) to prevent receptor desensitization.
